Boston Lobster Homemade Live Seafood Lobster Roll Recipe

With our DIY Live Lobster Roll Recipe, now you too can channel your inner masterchef and create restaurant-worthy lobster rolls for the entire family.


 •  2 Live Boston Lobsters
 •  2 Brioche Buns
 •  1 Fresh Lemon
 •  Butter 
 •  Mayonnaise 
 •  25g Italian Flatleaf Parsley


1  Place live lobsters in the freezer for 20 mins.

2  Bring a pot of water to the boil and add salt. It should taste like the sea.

Drop the live lobsters into the pot and cook for 6-8 mins.

Once the lobsters are cooked, shock them in ice water to stop the cooking process.

Twist the head to detach it from the tail. Use a pair of kitchen scissors to make 2 cuts though the shell on the underside of tail.

Carefully remove the meat in one piece and cut into large chunks or leave it whole, if you prefer.

Spread softened butter on the cut sides of the brioche bun and place buttered side down onto hot pan to toast it slightly.

Meanwhile, heat up some butter in a pot and add lobster meat. Gently poach them at medium heat to avoid toughening the meat. Season to taste with salt and pepper and toss with chopped parsley.

Spread mayonnaise on buns and put the warmed lobster meat inside.

10  Squeeze lemon juice to finish.

11  There you have it, your delicious live lobster roll made with love!
